Why I Don't Know Most Of What I Should Have Learned in High School

I graduated from high school at age 15, after just two short years. I immediately transferred to a community college to work on general education requirements for the University of California System. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz at age 18, and earned my masters at 19. One might think I would know a lot - wrong.

I've got some astounding gaps in my knowledge, many of them related to the compression of my high school and college years. I missed out on some classes altogether, and many others I would just cram information to get myself through an exam.

As time progresses, what I'm realizing is that the most important parts of education are not the markers at the end of each chapter (Diplomas, Degrees, Titles) - but the learning and discussion that takes place along the way.

To that end, I hope to write articles and essays on subjects I feel I'm deficit in. I'll be posting them here, and with luck they'll help you to learn more about the world around you.
